With the tech world seemingly on holiday Europe’s largest consumer electronics show is just around the corner. IFA takes place in the first week of September and is the first place to see what gadgets will be released this Christmas and beyond. We’ve scoured the worldwide web and unearthed a few clues of what is likely to be unveiled at this year’s IFA.
Microsoft is on a bit of a roll at the moment, everyone sat up and took notice of their innovative Surface tablet, Windows 8 is getting positive reviews for its forward-thinking user interface and now it’s time for Microsoft to unveil its latest version of Office.
At an invite-only press conference in Los Angeles last night Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer unveiled the software giant’s answer to the iPad – called Surface – the two new Windows-based tablets are set to be released this Autumn.
Microsoft were actually one of the first companies to try and perfect tablet computing over 10 years ago – for many reasons it failed – but this doesn’t mean they have given up. With the imminent release of Windows 8 it looks as if the technology and software are finally in place for Microsoft to finally crack this lucrative emerging market.
