Starbucks US lets its patrons pay through their mobile phones and now the Coffee company is planning to bring the same functionality to the UK. The service is likely to be rolled out from January, sales 2012. Initially, clinic | it would be available only for iOS platform, health so if you do not own an iPhone or iPod then you are out of luck.
According to Brian Waring, VP of Marketing & Category for Starbucks UK and Ireland said, “Customers want to be served quickly, but fewer want to use cash. We wanted to find a way for them to pay in the quickest way possible. Because our customers want it, we have created our own custom-built mobile payment technology rather than waiting for the near field communication technology which is currently not widely available. We’re always thinking of new ways to add value to our customers and give them more reasons to choose Starbucks.” So, thanks to Starbucks’ new technology, you will be able to save those precious nano seconds you used to waste on making cash payments.
The service was first launched in the US in early 2011 and has received positive response. Based on its performance, the company would be expanding the scope of this service internationally. All you need to do is to download the app, which then would have to be connected to the user’s Starbucks account.
