Sony Advertise For Anti-Piracy Agents

The war between Sony and the hackers is heating up again it seems dishing out lifetime network bans wasn’t enough for the PS3 manufactures. They’ve now decided to call in specialists in an attempt to strengthen the defences of their console.

Sony Computer Entertainment America has posted a number of job openings on its website advertising for people to work on an “anti-piracy and brand protection program.”

The available positions are for a ‘Senior Corporate Counsel’ and ‘Senior Paralegal for Anti-Piracy and Brand Protection.’

According to the description their job will be to, “develop a program which will require a strong strategic online component (taking input from and working with SCEA Marketing, SCEA Strategic Business Development Latin America and SCEA Product Development.”)

involving, “collaborating with other anti-piracy organizations, including those of affiliated Sony Computer Entertainment companies, Sony Corporation and the video game industry’s trade association, the Entertainment Software Association.”

If you’re interested, the Requirements for the positions are listed as “knowledge of online investigative practices and online databases.”

What does this mean for the hackers and jailbreakers? Will they be able to step up their game and beat the pros or is this the end of PS3 Piracy?
