New iPod Touch, iPad and iPhone 5 Rumours Emerge

The Apple rumour mill is cranking backup up again with more rumours that Apple are planning a new iPod Touch, prostate new iPad, ambulance and interestingly or worryingly a new iPhone 5  (we know they’ve just released one.)

The rumours are being circulated by a reliable source from over the pond and have to be taken with a couple of grains of salt as with any Mac rumours.

The new iPod will apparently finally come with a camera after pictures that have leaked onto the web this morning from Electricpig. Both the shuffle and Touch will get a makeover with the dinky 3-inch touch screen edition, which will do away with the famous jog dial that was used in the first iPods. And could be on shelves as early as September.

Next up is a new iPad, now there has been rumours that a new iPad would be launched in the next 12 months with a front facing camera to allow users to use Apple Facetime function, but the current rumour mill is pointing to something slightly different. A few months back a picture surfaced of a new screen that was 7-inches big and was touted for a new Apple product. Now it is thought that the new iPad could be revised into two different sizes, a 10-inch and 7-inch edition.

It is touted that we might see it late 2010 or early 2011  – if it end up being substantially cheaper that the bigger version we could see it flying off the shelves, especially if they could get the price to below £300 maybe even £250 – would make it a shrewd move for company.

But perhaps the most interesting rumours from this reliable source is that Apple is pushing up the release date of the fifth-generation iPhone to early 2011 (as soon as January) because of the antenna issues with the iPhone 4. It’s unknown whether this will be a repackaging of iPhone 4 components in a different shell or something more substantial. We reiterate: it’s hard to believe. But as with so many seemingly far-fetched early reports, it’s not impossible.

So this just speculation, but we know Apple have a thing for re-modeling their product lines, they are doing it so frequently now that consumers almost expect it and it allows the company to keep pushing their sales, by allowing little lead time before the hype run out. But these rumors seem a little cynical for us. Apple can’t expect to keep changing their products every 12 months and keep their loyal fans without trying to milk the situation. Especially if their already going to making the iPhone 4 obsolete.

What do think of Apple constant revamping? Are they just giving the consumer what they want or are they trying to get as much money out of their fans as possible? Let us know below.

Good article. I think if it is true what you say about the iphone 5 then its not a good move. You can’t expect the same hysteria and excitement about the new iphone when you release one every few months. I know alot of people who be very annoyed having just locked into a 24 month phone plan to see that the technology has quickly become obsolete.

I am giving the iPhone 4 a miss. I am really happy with my iPhone 3G running OS3. I want to get an iPad but I will hold for the next version. I am happy they are constantly releasing new products. That means I don’t have to wait forever for the latest release when I am ready to buy.

    Thanks for the comment guys.

Shane, think your right but they have just some fantastic financial results with this whole yearly makeover strategy – so it will only continue. I had load of Apple stuff but I tend to go every-other generation or more depending what it is. I’m with Charlie I will wait until the next one or even the after that got 18 months to go on my contract and not paying £20 pounds for every months if I upgrade now.

It likely to be different antenna, but they will probably add a few new things too, they just can’t help themselves.

I was waiting for the updated iPad before buying – there are bound to be improvements and a smaller size would be great. WRT the iPhone 5 – doubtful. Apple would never go so far as to admit they had produced a defunct device, and that is what the message would be if they brought forward the release of a new model so soon. I imagine they will just tweak the antenna design slightly by using a different material or an invisible coating to make it work better. Consumers probably wouldn’t notice the difference.

Interesting article! I heard the Apple iPad 2 was going to be release soon this year, with NO HOME BUTTON! To be honest, i think it’s quite ridioulous. I’ve lived with the home button on the iPhone. To me, it’s the only button on the iDevice!

Thanks for the article! Will share it!

Well, now we all see that the new iPad not onlt ROCKS but it has dominated all the other tablets available in the market!
It has a homebutton (That’s for you Momo), camera, dual-core CPU etc.
